Two things happened:

A. I had an anxiety dream. We lived next door to each other like friends growing up together might. You invited every person from your past except me to a party at your house. You knew I was home but didn't invite me. Trapped in limbo of a known-unknown - invisibility. I watched you from my second floor window like a ghost. I saw you laugh with ease in a way I didn't recognize. You were shining and so brilliant I had to look away. There's a line in Tolstoy's Anna Karenina that goes - He stepped down, trying not to look long at her, as if she were the sun, yet he saw her, like the sun, even without looking.

You know about Dream Residue? Well, that feeling stayed with me all week. Invisible. What a funny subconscious memo I offered myself.

B. Someone called my phone from another state - a wrong number - and left a message in my voicemail. A dentist breaking up with their patient. It's better if you move on they said. I'm retired and pretty much just cleaning up and saying goodbye to people. I was kind of moved by it - and found details in their vocal delivery interesting - sad even.
